KubeCon + CloudNativeCon Europe 2024 brought the cloud native community together in Paris to share ideas, projects and experience. For our team, it was a week of learning and conversations with people building the technologies we use every day.
Getting started
The first day was a chance to find our bearings, plan sessions and talk with teams from projects such as Cilium, Dagger and Komodor. The programme showed the breadth of the ecosystem: networking and Istio, Backstage authentication, platforms and infrastructure.
Shared challenges
Conversations showed that many challenges recur in organisations of every size: operating platforms, improving developer experience and connecting team needs with infrastructure.
Listening to the people who maintain these tools helps us understand not just their capabilities, but also the decisions and trade-offs behind them.
Learning as a community
With many sessions running in parallel, we prioritised topics relevant to our work and shared what we learned with colleagues. Conversations at the exhibition stands and meetings with other teams complemented the technical sessions.
We returned with new ideas and a renewed sense that community is essential to the cloud native ecosystem.
